Margaret Joyce Mumford

It is with tremendous sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Mumford. Margaret leaves behind her husband and soul mate of 56 years Douglas and her 3 daughters – Diane (Kelly) Francis, Jo-Anne (David) Borgford and Lee-Anne Wilson. Grandchildren – Erica, Kristine, Ryan, Michelle, Jesse, Sheryl, Ashley, Nigel, Tyler and Zachary plus 4 great grandchildren.

Margaret is predeceased by her son Adrian Mumford in August, 2005.

Margaret will be missed by her sister, brothers, in-laws many nieces, nephews and her extended family.

Margaret was born in England. The family moved to Australia, back to England and finally settled in Canada, March of 1966. She moved to Kitimat in December of 1969 to become foster parents in the new Lions Club foster home. She was “Mom” to many children then and now.

They purchased the Terrace Bowling Lanes in 1974 and moved to Terrace in 1975 where she found herself very involved in the Bowling Community as a bowler, coach and mentor. She became very involved with Youth Bowling Program and loved working with the children. Margaret has achieved many Gold medals as a Coach and bowler, her latest achievement was her 15 year plaque for participation at the Master Bowlers National Tournament.

Margaret loved to travel, bowl, golf and spend time with her friends at the Royal Purple.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Margaret’s name to the BC Diabetes Society.
