LOUIS P. ELORZA

March 16, 1946 - March 31, 2008

Louis Paul Elorza was born March 16,1946 in Reno, Nevada to Paul and Benedicta

Elorza. Lou graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology in 1968. June 8, 1968 He married Cathy and continued his education. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in June of 1973. Lou and Cathy immigrated to Terrace, British Columbia in August 1973 to join Dr Jim Proctor’s veterinary practice. Lou then based his own practice in Terrace and Kitimat, but travelled extensively throughout the Northwest from the Queen Charlottes to Cassiar trying to help every one he could.

April 11, 1974 Lou and Cathy’s first son Jason was born. Twenty months later their second son Ronnie was born.

Everyone knew Lou lived his life to the fullest. He had an unending passion for the outdoors. Lou’s explorations led him from Alaska to the Patagonia and all places in between. After reaching the oceans at both ends he turned to Russia and New Zealand.

Lou is survived by his wife Cathy, sons Jason and Ronnie and his mother

Benedicta and a soon-to-be-bom grandson.

Lou left everlasting footprints on the hearts of everyone that he met. By the time we join Lou, he will surely have the best fishing holes and the prettiest places staked out. In the mean time we will all miss him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Terrace Child Development Centre.
