Born on Oct. 24 in Alfeld Germany. Came to Canada in 1953 to Saskatchewan. Moved to Terrace in 1962. The eldest of 6 children.
Lea relocated to the lower mainland after her husband Russ Smith passed away in 2001. She lost her 4 year battle with cancer, passing away peacefully in Terrace surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, December 28.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people who helped Lea come back to Terrace for her remaining days with her family, the ground crews in Vancouver and Terrace and flight attendant Monica from Hawkair, Janis and Vicky from Homecare Nursing and Dr. Warbeck.
