James Arthur BASS
August 9, 1953 - September 20, 2006
Born and raised in Terrace, B.C., Jim moved to Parksville, B.C. when he was in Grade 11 where he met his sweetheart Cheryle. His first bout with cancer in his early 20’s taught him to live life to the fullest, without complaint, and that is the way he left us while trying to beat cancer again.
He will be missed and always loved by his wife
Cheryle, daughters Tara (Sig) Mckone and Jennifer Bass (Tim Langille), beloved grandchildren Montana & Rocky McKone, parents Phil & Peggy Bass, sisters Susan (Pat) Casey and Patti (Ron) Malcolm, and brother Bryan (Tanya) Bass, all the Holmes family inlaws, nieces and nephews, and many friends and colleagues.
He shared his father’s great love of the woods, and spent much of his life boating, fishing, camping, and working in the bush. After becoming a Forestry EngineeringTechnician through BCIT, he worked for M&B for many years, and then started his own company specializing in Environmental Engineering. His work took him throughout the province, but mostly along Vancouver Island, the Midcoast and Squamish.
We will be holding a celebration of his life at our home at 41542 Government Road, Squamish, B.C. at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2006. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
