parents, Manuel and Rosa;
siblings, Maria, Rosa, David and David Manuel.
Ernesto was born on June 16, 1927 in Sao Miguel, Acores. He met and married his wife Maria in 1962 and had three children. Ernesto immigrated to Canada in 1971 and settled raising his family in Terrace, B.C. Ernesto was employed at Skeena Sawmill until his retirement in 1992. Once he retired he was able to do what he loved most-tend his Garden. He spent years at the Farmer’s Market where he enjoyed meeting people; spending time with his friends. Ernesto’s most exciting time of the year was preparing for Farmer’s Market weekend. His grandchildren will miss “Grandpa” Carreiro’s garden, and the special times they spent with him.
Ernesto’s Funeral was held at Sacred Heart Parish on Tuesday, January 13th, 2009. Father Terry Brock officiated; Pallbearers, Manuel Francisco Favela, Joao Botelho, Joao Luis Soares, Raulino De Melo, Tomas Afonso, and Jose Craveiro.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who offered comfort and support at this sad time.
