It is with overwhelming sadness we announce the sudden death of David Alan O’Brien on August 30th, 2016. Dave was born in Enderby BC, June 12, 1957, soon after, his family moved to Vancouver Island where he grew up in Ladysmith. Dave decided he wanted to be a teacher so he went to UBC after graduating high-school and attained his teaching degree. Dave developed a love for Northern BC while doing mineral exploration in the summers of his university years. His first teaching assignment was in Stewart BC, in 1991. He moved to Terrace and began teaching at Skeena Middle School in 1993, where he has taught ever since.

Daved loved life and all the people he shared it with. Everything he did, he did with the greatest of enthusiasm and passion. He loved music, collected records, played guitar, whistled and sang, and loved to dance with the love of his life, Sharon. He loved his home and found great joy in his garden, doing woodworking projects, and in his neighborhood and his neighbors at Lakelse Lake.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Sharon, stepchildren Carlie-Lynn (Darrell), Jason (Crystal), and Allison, grandchildren Tiffany, Kelsie, Braydon, Keyaira and Kohlton, great grandchildren Olivia and Noah. Dave will also be greatly missed by his brother Bob, sister in law Debbie, nieces Heather and Haillie (Jason), and nephew Mike (Laura).

In respect of his wishes there will be no services.

We would like to thank all the neighbors, friends, co-workers and students that have expressed support and love during this very difficuly time.
