March 21, 1919 - October 19, 2011

Corbin was born on the family homestead in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan on March 21, 1919. The family moved to BC in the early 1920’s, eventually taking up residence at the Eby Street Farmhouse in 1928. He attended school at the Kenney Street school, but left at an early age to commence his work career.

He worked in many laborious positions and eventually landed in Prince Rupert where he met Lillian Skogmo. Corbin and Lillian married in 1943 and together embarked on a 65 year journey that was filled with love, hardship, music, dancing, family, community, and a home where the coffee was always on. The family moved to Terrace where Corbin took on the position of General Manager of the Terrace Co-op from 1951-1978.

Through these years he was a dedicated community servant serving on the School Board, Hospital Board, Library Board and the Regional District. Corbin and Lillian moved to Salmon Arm in 1979 and Corbin continued working in many capacities as a board member of Federated Co-op.

The family roots brought them back to Terrace in 1989 - the home that they both loved. Corbin passed away peacefully in the early morning of October 19, 2011 with his family by his side.

He is predeceased by his wife Lillian, son Lorne and grandson Rees. He is survived by his son Robert (Paula), daughter Christine (Brent), daughter-in-law Lorraine and five grandchildren, Laird, Shannon, Erik, Eleanor and Carolyn. Family was the true joy of Corbin.

The family would like to express their appreciation for all the care and support that has been extended. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the REM Lee Hospital Foundation.
