Clara Antonia Turner (nee Schultzik)

October 5, 1913 - July 6, 2009

Clara was born in Saskatchewan. Her father was a section foreman for C.N.R. and that brought the family to BC. She lived in many section houses from Perow to Shames. She had some schooling in Topley and when they moved to Hazelton she worked at Wrinch Memorial Hospital. Later when she moved to Terrace she worked at the Philbert Hotel, which later became the Skeena Hotel.She married Tom Turner in 1940 and raised three children. She resided at Terraceview Lodge the last two years of her life.

She passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Tommy in 1985, son Tommy in 1986 and son-in-law Jake deJong in 2004.

She is survived by her son Brian (Claire), daughter Brenda, daughter-in-law Gail, grandchildren Tommy James, Stephen, Joey, Troy, Chad, Brendan, Shane, Kara and 13 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank: those who sat with Mom duing her illness - Isabelle, Bonnie, Linda, Hospice - Kathy and Janey who sat with Mom during the wee hours of the night; all who sent cards, flowers and goodies; Shirlee Lindsay for the beautiful service; Rheann Armes for her beautiful voice; the Happy Gang Center for the tea; Dr. Linton for his care throughout the years and especially the staff at Terraceview Lodge who took such wonderful care of our mother.
