Caroline Bredy

Caroline was born September 5, 1910 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Charles and Maria Saskaske. She was one of six children.

At the age of two, her family moved to LaPorte, Sask. where they homesteaded and her father was the local Blacksmith. As she grew older, Caroline became her father’s bookkeeper and secretary for his business. She also managed a dry-goods store.

On Nov. 7, 1938 Caroline married Fred Bredy. One daughter, Myrna, was born to the couple on October 23, 1944.

In October 1958, the 3 Bredys moved to Terrace where Charles Saskaske had built rental cabins on Agar Avenue in the late 1940’s.

Husband Fred passed away in 1984 and Caroline continued to reside in Terrace until February 2004 when she moved with her children to Kamloops, B.C.

Caroline passed away peacefully on December 1, 2004 at the age of 94 years. She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter Myrna, son-in-law, Norman Rolfsen, 2 Grandchildren, Michelle (Duane) Hennig, David (Carrie) Rolfsen, and one great-grandson Zane Rolfsen, all of Kamloops, B.C. One brother Herman (Justine) Saskaske, Olds, Alta., 2 nieces - Colleen (Wayne) Brenna and family, Red Deer, Alta, Connie (Gord) Lee and family of Edmonton, Alta, as well as many relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace.

A family commendation service was held at Hills of Peace Lutheran Church in Kamloops with Pastor Brian Krushel officiating. Interment will be held at the Terrace Municipal Cemetery in the spring of 2005 in a family burial site.
