Ardith Dora Burton
Sept. 20, 1933 - Oct. 16, 2005
Born in Kentville Nova Scotia, Ardith and her family moved to Terrace B. C. in 1965. She worked many years at Terrace View Lodge until her retirement. Ardith was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman, hunter and spent many hours at Fisherman’s Park where she was known to sit and wait 2 hrs just to see a fish jump.
Ardith lost her courageous battle with her family by her side. She will be sadly missed by her companion Don Anderson, sisters Betty Deon(Adelbert) and Jerry Hickey(Emest), children Mary Burton(Cyril), Dave Burton(Sandy), Terry Burton, Cathy Makara and Christina Atchison(Doug), grandchildren Sheila, Carol, Nicole, Daniel, David, Kristen, Cody, Brittney and Johnathan, great-grandchildren Gregory, Stephen, Trevor and Anthony. Extended family Don Anderson Jr.(Tracey), Keith Anderson, Brian Anderson(Dakota and Jennifer) and Ken & Marilyn McCharles. Ardith was predeceased by her mother, father and children Carol and Alan.
There was no funeral as per Ardith’s wishes- MacKay’s was in charge of the cremation and a private service was held with her family Wed Oct 19. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Ardith Burton to the City of Terrace 3215 Eby Street Terrace B.C. V8G 2X8 for a memorial at Fisherman’ s Park.
