Update: Van and police vehicle collide on Hwy 16

POLICE CONTINUE to investigate a collision between a van and a Terrace RCMP vehicle that sent both drivers to hospital today.

At 10:17 a.m., an older model Mitsubishi minivan travelling west collided with a fully marked RCMP Chevrolet Tahoe heading east on Hwy 16 near Kerr St, reported Terrace RCMP this afternoon, Aug. 29.

Both drivers, an RCMP constable and a 79-year-old man, were treated for minor injuries at Mills Memorial Hospital, said police.

West Pacific Regional Traffic Services, also known as the highway patrol, are investigating the cause of the collision, said police.

Police have confirmed there was a heavy downpour at the time of the incident.
