Three arrested in drug seizure

The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 23 calls for service from January 24, 8 AM till January 25, 8 AM.

The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 23 calls for service from January 24, 8 AM till January 25, 8 AM. During the same time period there were six people lodged in Terrace Cells. Two of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

* assist Prince Rupert RCMP with a sexual assault investigation

* police observed a loose dog running in the middle of Lakelse Ave almost being struck by two vehicles. Police took the dog to the Terrace Animal Shelter.

Elsewhere Terrace

* a green cloth wallet was lost containing various cards and ID.

* intoxicated man passed out in the library. Police arrested a 23 yr old man for public intoxication.

* a man loitering outside of the Mills Memorial Hospital emergency entrance. The man has been warned in the past not do this. He left prior to police attendance.

* a black wallet with small red and white stripes was lost containing various cards and ID.

* intoxicated 48 yr old man in a wheel chair yelling at people that he wished they were all dead.

* a tree down on Kalum Lake Dr at Halliwell Ave blocking traffic. Police attended and found that a concerned citizen had already taken care of the matter by bucking the tree up and ditching it.

* noise complaint from a unit on Soucie Ave. Police attended and found the noise level acceptable.

* intoxicated family member not wanted in the home. The 20 yr old woman was not causing any problems and went to bed.

* barking dog on Straume Ave. Police spoke with the dog owner and the dog was put inside.

* suicidal 18 yr old girl. Police spoke with the girl. It was a familial dispute. Unsubstantiated.

* a man walking down the street told another man to call the police because there were people inside of his home on Hanson St trashing it, then the man continued on his way. Police checked the residence. Unfounded complaint.

* 14 yr old girl did not return home for her court ordered curfew. Ongoing occurrence.

* domestic disturbance. Police spoke with two women and cleared a residence. Advice was given on the matter.

* a vehicle was checked in the parking lot of Kiti K'Shan School. An amount of drugs was seized from the 20 yr old driver.

* a woman with a cut hand on River Dr. Police attended to possible locations on River Dr and could nit find a woman needing assistance.

Rural

* missing 23 yr old man.

* intoxicated neighbor kicking a door and being obnoxious. He left prior to police attendance. Police spoke with a 48 yr old man and told him to stay inside of his own residence.

* advice was given on a domestic issue.

* a green 2004 GMC Sierra pickup driving on the wrong side of the road at Hwy 37/Hwy 16. Checks were done of area.

* a grey 2006 Pontiac Pursuit struck a snowbank on the Nisga'a Hwy near Lean To Creek. Police conducted traffic control until the vehicle was towed.

Thornhill

* a black 1991 Ford truck was checked at a road block on Queensway Dr. Police smelt marihuana. Three men were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. An amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized. The 18 yr old driver was issued violation tickets.
