Thieves under ten apprehended at mall

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 115 calls for service from May 30, 8 a.m. till June 2, 8 a.m.

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 115 calls for service from May 30th, 8 AM till June 2nd, 8 AM. During the same time period there have been 16 people lodged in Terrace Cells. 12 of these people were lodged for intoxication.

On the morning of May 30 a red Ford Taurus travelling north on Old Lakelse Lake Dr. collided with a brown Honda CRV that turned onto Paquette Ave. Both vehicles sustained front end damage. No injuries.

Ongoing issues with a yellow side by side quad on Thornhill St ripping up and down roads. A man was spoken with.

Two intoxicated boys were observed walking down Paquette Ave. An amount of alcohol, drugs, and drug paraphernalia were seized. A 15 yr old boy was arrested and released to the care of a sober guardian.

On May 31 at 2:30 AM a male and female used a skateboard to smash out the glass front door of an apartment building on Pear St. It appeared that a backpack had been left inside and could not be retrieved so the door was broken to get in. The couple then fled on foot.

Man passed out in a restaurant on Hwy 16. Police woke the man up who was violent and attempted to strike police. He was arrested.

A Toyota Sienna was travelling towards Terrace on Kalum Lake Dr when it lost control on wet roads and hit the ditch, landing on its passenger side. The driver suffered minor injuries.

Domestic assault. A man assaulted a woman causing minor injuries. Police arrested a 42 yr old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Girl passed out at a restaurant on Lakelse Ave. Police woke up a 14 yr old girl, who was sober but tired after a night of partying with friends.

Break and enter to a business on Griffith St. A pressure washer was stolen.

Hit a run to a white 2013 Honda Civic. It happened either at either the Safeway or the Theater parking lot on May 30 between 9:15 and 9:40 PM. Damage was to the corner of the bumper with a chunk of paint missing.

A yellow 2013 Chevrolet Camaro was pulled over on Greig Ave/Apsley St. The 28 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. He had a class 7 N driver’s licence and was failing to display N as per restriction.

A blue 2008 GMC Sierra truck was pulled over on Spark St/Park Ave when the driver was observed talking on a cell phone. Checks determined that the 76 yr old driver was suspended from driving. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Erratic driver on Hwy 37 travelling north from the Lakelse Lake Provincial Park. Police located the vehicle in the Walmart parking lot and observed it pull into traffic in the wrong direction. The grey 2005 Acura was pulled over. The 24 yr old driver did not have driver’s licence and had a notice to serve a prohibition. The driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. Police assisted in making arrangement for a ride for the woman and her two children that were passengers in the vehicle.

Police observed a man walking by the Coast who is on a condition to not be within 100 feet of the Coast. Police arrested the 22 yr old man and are forwarding charges of breaching his Recognizance.

Theft from a vehicle parked in an underground parking lot on Sparks St on May 31 sometime between 2 and 2:30 PM. Money and cell phones were taken from two purses that were left inside of the car.

A brother and sister under the age of 10 yrs were caught shoplifting from a business in the Skeena Mall. Police drove the siblings home and left them in the care of a parent.

Familial dispute. A woman was punched by her son. Police spoke with mother.

A silver 2014 Honda Pilot travelling north on Hwy 37 struck a moose near the 52 km marker. BC Ambulance attended and assessed the driver and two children who were passengers. Injuries sustained were minor. The moose ran away but was located in the ditch deceased.

Sexual assault investigation.

A black 2014 Honda Civic was pulled over on Hwy 16 east during a road check. The 38 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn and a fail. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition.

Boy passed out in a bathroom at the Copperside on Kalum St. Police woke up a 16 yr old boy. An amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Intoxicated guests of a motel on Hwy 16 refusing to leave and causing a disturbance. Police arrested a 19 yr old man on an outstanding warrant out of Vancouver. Two women left in a taxi.

A man used a baseball bat to smash out the windows of a parked orange 2007 Dodge Caliber parked at a residence known to police on Haugland Ave. The man then proceeded to smash out the front window of the residence then left in a truck.

Intoxicated man refusing to leave a party at a residence on Thornhill St. Police arrested a confrontational and belligerent 25 yr old man.

Domestic harassment. Police spoke with the people involved.

A 48 yr old woman was apprehended under the Mental Health Act. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by BC Ambulance.

During the night of June 1st/ 2nd there was a theft from a white 2011 Chevrolet Silverado truck parked at the Best Western Hotel. The passenger’s side window had been smashed out with an axe. Two GPS unites, a camera, and a laptop were stolen.
