Thefts from vehicles soaring

Lock your vehicle doors and remove valuable items, say Terrace RCMP

Terrace RCMP are reminding the public that locking your vehicle doors is the single most effective way to deter thieves.

Another thing to keep in mind is to remove items of value when your vehicle is parked, or at a minimum hide them from sight. Thieves will smash out a window if they see something of value inside to steal, says Cst Angela Rabut, Community Policing/Media Relations Terrace RCMP.

There has been an increase in the amount of thefts from vehicles in the recent weeks. In a majority of these cases the vehicles were left unlocked. Many items have been stolen, some of substantial value. Locking doors and removing items of value are two ways to prevent crime from happening to you.
