Teens arrested; police stop arson attempt

Terrace RCMP at first were responding to news of a break and enter

TWO BOYS, ages 16 and 17, were arrested the night of Nov. 22 for an arson attempt in Thornhill.

Police were called to a report of two boys breaking into an unoccupied residence in the 3100 block of Thornhill St. Two sets of footprints led to the rear of the residence where a door had been forced open. A burning roll of toilet paper and paper towel were found on the living room floor.

A fresh motorbike track and footprints in the heavily falling snow led police to a heavily wooded area. Two boys were located and arrested.

They were released on various conditions to their parents for a court date of January 15. Charges of break and entering with mischief are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
