Tahltan to vote on transmission line

TAHLTAN are to start voting this Friday to accept or reject a series of economic and other deals negotiated by their leaders regarding the Northwest Transmission Line.

TAHLTAN are to start voting this Friday to accept or reject a series of economic and other deals negotiated by their leaders regarding the Northwest Transmission Line.

Voting can either be done on line or over the phone and in person for people living in Dease Lake, Iskut or Telegraph Creek.

The line will go through Tahltan traditional territory, ending at Bob Quinn on Hwy37 North. The agreements provide for cash, jobs and business opportunities. The Tahltan have also been negotiating deals with mining and other companies.
