The snowfall warning remains in effect with Environment Canada urging the public to postpone non-essential travel.

Highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Drive BC is reporting slippery sections, fog patches and compact snow at several locations along Hwy 16 in both directions from Terrace. Winter highway maintenance 56 km west of the city will continue until Sunday morning around 6 a.m. The section of highway is currently reduced to single-lane alternating traffic.

Snowfall has exceeded the 30cm forecast.

The greatest amount is expected to be in the Kitimat area as the front drops southeast this evening. Snow will taper off completely overnight as the system moves into the central interior of BC.
