Police urge caution on roads

Slow down when driving in winter, say New Hazelton RCMP

NEW HAZELTON RCMP responded to a total of 78 calls during the week of Dec. 20-26.

On December 20, a black Apple Ipad 2 was reported stolen from the daycare centre on Government St.

On December 24, police were called to a residence on Bulkley Cres in Gitanmaax for a fight. Some intoxicated individuals were arrested as a result of the melee, however, charges are not being sought.

Also on December 24, police were called regarding a skidoo driving around the village of Gitsegukla.

On December 26, police responded to a complaint in Gitanyow of a residential break and enter on Third Ave. Currency was stolen.

New Hazelton RCMP are reminding drivers to slow down and drive with added caution during winter conditions. Police will be conducting additional checkstops for the holiday season to ensure public safety. Please do not drink and drive.

Police are seeking the following subjects on outstanding warrants:

Robert Thomas - assault and failing to appear.

Bruce Wilson Jr. - assault and uttering threats.
