HEAVILY armed RCMP officers are combing a forested area east of Terrace in a search of a man following an apparent shooting death of another man and the wounding of a woman in Thornhill early this afternoon.
The search is going on in the Kleanza Creek area in the area of a provincial park and rural residential area.
Residents are being advised to stay in their homes.
The incident began when a woman left a residence on Dobbie St. in Thornhill and went to another residence on the same street, saying she had been shot and that a man in the residence she had exited had also been shot.
Police began looking for a yellow truck that was seen leaving the area.
It was the located, empty, in the Kleanza Creek area.
The woman who was shot has been taken to Mills Memorial Hospital.
Officers from around the region have been called in to assist the Terrace RCMP and the area's emergency response team has been called out.
The coroner's office has been informed.
