Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 35 calls for service from July 16th, 8 a.m. till July 17th, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, four people were lodged in Terrace cells – three of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Downtown Terrace
Checks were conducted on the passenger of a car parked near the George Little House. The 27-year-old passenger had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Houston. The warrant was executed.
Fight on Greig Ave. Police spoke with an intoxicated man who claimed he was attacked by a man who had left prior to police attendance. Police arrested an intoxicated 41-year-old man a short distance away. Further details were not obtained due to the level of intoxication of both men.
Man sleeping in the ATM lobby of the Scotiabank on Lakelse Ave. Police woke up a 57-year-old man and he moved on.
False business alarm on Lakelse Ave.
Elsewhere Terrace
A backpack containing various medications was stolen from the Carpenter's Hall. Checks were done of the area.
Uttering threats. A person sold a vehicle and is now receiving threatening text messages from the purchaser. Police spoke with the people involved.
A purchase was fraudulently made on a lost company credit card. The card has been cancelled.
Personal identification was found in the bushes near the Arena.
Ongoing personal conflict with name calling and harassing behavior. Under investigation.
Four adults sitting in a vehicle on Haugland Ave. doing drugs while their children played outside. The adults were spoken with. Unsubstantiated.
Erratic driver in a silver Mazda Protégé on Kalum St./Haugland Ave. The vehicle was pulled over leaving the Skeena Liquor Store. The driver was sober but did not have a driver's licence. The vehicle was in poor repair. The passenger did not have a seat belt on.
A dog in a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot. Checks were done of the area.
A Samsung Galaxy s4 was stolen from a lunch box at George Little Park.
A man and woman screaming and shouting at each other on Straume Ave. Police spoke with the intoxicated couple. The man wanted to go to jail for the night to get away from the woman and climbed into the police vehicle on his own accord to escape her. Police arrested the 23-year-old man.
A disturbance at a residence on Davis Ave. The man and woman who were causing the disturbance left prior to police attendance. A short time later police arrested the 44-year-old man when he went home and punched a hole in the wall and was scaring people.
A used needle was found near the mailbox at Straume Ave./Kalum St. Checks were done of the area.
A suspicious man dressed in a black t-shirt, shorts, and carrying a backpack walking on Birch St. Checks were done of the area.
A man damaged the door of a motel room when he was denied accommodation. Police located the man and transported him to another location. Under investigation.
A woman and her daughter were walking down Kalum St. near the court house when they passed a man and woman walking two dogs. One of the dogs bit the 17-year-old daughter causing a minor injury. The dog owners ignored the incident and continued towards Kalum Gardens.
False residential alarm on Spring Creek Dr.
A green 1998 Chrysler Intrepid was pulled over on Emerson St./Lakelse Ave. The 33-year-old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. He had a Class 7L driver's licence and did not have a qualified supervisor in the vehicle with him.
Assault. Investigation determined that the incident was already reported.
Dog in a red Ford truck at the Esso on Keith Ave. Checks were done of the area.
A wallet was found by a jogger on Kalum Hill.
A barking dog in a truck parked on Pear St. Police located the registered owner.
Thornhill
Assist Prince George RCMP with document service.
An intoxicated man became angry when some items were moved in his house by a tenant. A woman was transported to another location till sobriety and cooler heads could prevail.
A red Jeep Patriot hit the ditch on Walker St. and ended up on its roof. The driver fled the scene. A green 1995 GMC van was observed to pull up then leave the scene. The van was pulled over and the 38-year-old driver of the Patriot was found hiding under a blanket in the van. He was under the influence of drugs. There was no insurance on the Patriot.
Rural
Two requests to assist Ministry of Children and Families with checks.
Trash was delivered to the detachment in hopes of identifying who the litter bugs were. Police discussed the incident.
Kitsumkalum
A red and white GMC was causing sparks on Hwy 16 near the Tempo. Checks were done of the area.
Domestic assault. A woman was attacked by a man. Police attended to numerous residences and received no cooperation and lots of hostility. Nobody involved in the assault could be located. Under investigation.
