Breaching a conditional sentence order means a man will have to spend time in jail.
Leonard Joseph Parnell had his conditional sentence order, basically house arrest, suspended and was ordered to go to jail for 20 days in provincial court here March 30.
Parnell had pleaded guilty to a charge of assault and two breaches of undertaking Feb. 27, 2015 and ordered to 90 days on a conditional sentence followed by a year of probation.
The charges came from an incident between Feb. 18 at 8 a.m. to 8 a.m. Feb. 19, 2014, when Terrace RCMP reported that officers were called out to yelling and screaming at a residence and when police attended, they heard a woman whimpering and the sounds of punching.
Officers forced open the residential door and observed a man, 33, assaulting a woman and arrested him, said police.
They had to force the man to the floor when he failed to follow directions given, said police.
