Man charged after theft spree in Terrace

Philip Thompson Cooper to appear in Terrace provincial court today

A 47 year old male is in RCMP custody and will appear in Terrace Provincial Court on Tuesday facing numerous charges in relation to several recent thefts.

Following a rash of break and enters into city businesses over the past two weeks, a male, well known to police, was arrested on Saturday. Philip Thompson Cooper of no fixed address is charged with eight offences, including breach of probation, theft and possession of break-in instruments.

"It was a combination of good police work and great support from the community that led to this arrest. More charges are expected to be laid," said Inspector Dana Hart of the Terrace RCMP.
