Man beat up outside Northern Motor Inn

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 114 calls for service from February 20th, 8 AM till February 23rd, 8 AM.

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 114 calls for service from February 20th, 8 AM till February 23rd, 8 AM. During the same time period 24 people were lodged in Terrace Cells. 16 of these people were lodged for intoxication

Here are the calls they responded to:

Two Honda generators believed to be stolen were seized from a property on Mountain Vista Dr. Police are looking for the owners.

An intoxicated man got into the driver’s seat of a grey 2007 Chevrolet GFX. Police pulled the vehicle over in a parking lot on Thornhill St. The 32 yr old driver was arrested. He refused to provide a sample of breath. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

A grey 1998 Honda Civic was pulled over on Hwy 16 near the Thornhill Fire Station. The vehicle did not have insurance, the 34 yr old driver did not have a driver’s licence and he was suspended from driving. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The vehicle was impounded.

Police assisted staff at a motel on Lakelse Ave with evicting a person.

A bike described as a red CCM mountain bike, 18 speed, two horn grips on the front, was stolen from the front of a house on Park Ave in between 9 PM and 10 PM on Feb. 20th.

A black 2008 Hummer H3 was pulled over on Hwy 16 near Ferry Island for going 80 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. An amount of marihuana was seized from the 21 yr old driver.

A white 2014 Mazda 3 was pulled over on Hwy 16 near Ferry Island for going 72 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. The driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. She was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition. She had a class 7 N driver’s licence with a restriction of zero alcohol.

Police observed a badly beaten man lying on the ground outside of the Northern Motor Inn. A 26 yr old man was arrested but escaped from police. He punched the man lying on the ground repeatedly in the head. Police regained control of the man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

A red GMC truck in the ditch on the south side of the old bridge. The 20 yr old driver had an injury to his head. Under investigation.

A black wallet with two zippers and pinkcolor inside containing cash and carious cards and ID was lost at the Northern Motor Inn on the night of February 20th/21st.

An intoxicated man passed out in the Terrace Public Library. Checks determined that the man was breaching his undertaking condition of no consume alcohol. The 34 yr old man was arrested.

An intoxicated woman was asked to leave a business on Greig Ave. The woman assaulted the business owner causing injury. Police arrested the 22 yr old woman. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

A black Kona 5 speed bike was stolen from out in front of Denny’s sometime between 9 PM and 10:30 PM on Feb. 21st.

Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a shoplifter. Police spoke with the 16 yr old boy and he was turned over to his parent. He is banned from the store.

Two 911 calls for a domestic dispute on Kalum St. A man was in breach of Recognizance conditions of no contact with a person if he had consumed alcohol and to leave the presence of a person when requested. The 34 yr old man was arrested and is held for court.

Suicidal 26 yr old man. He was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.

An intoxicated 16 yr old youth attended to the detachment and asked to go to jail for the night to sober up. Police let the person sleep it off and called parents.

An intoxicated 31 yr old woman attended to the detachment and asked to go to jail for the night. Police obliged.

A red 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix was pulled over on Kshish St in Gitaus. The driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail.

A green clutch type wallet containing various cards, ID, and cash, and a white Samsung Galaxy 3 in a black case were stolen from a purse that was left briefly on a table at the Northern Motor Inn at around 1:30 AM on Feb 22nd.

A pink jacket containing various cards and ID was lost.

A grey 2014 Ford Escape sustained damage in a hit and run in the Walmart parking lot on Feb 22nd at approximately 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM.

A grey 2007 Chrysler 300 sustained damage in a hit and run somewhere in Terrace.

A person refusing to leave a residence on Scott Ave. Police spoke with the people involved. All were very intoxicated except for one. The person causing problems left but returned a short time later. Police were called back and arrested the 25 yr old woman. Police were called back a third time for another intoxicated person refusing to leave and causing problems. The 25 yr old woman was arrested.

Suicidal 17 yr old girl. Police apprehended the girl under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Mills Memorial Hospital.

A person fearing that while sleeping crack cocaine is being forced up her nose. Police spoke with the woman. The assistance of Northern Mental Health has been requested.
