Man arrested for threatening to blow up building

The Terrace RCMP responded to 125 calls for service from June 20, 8 a.m. till June 23, 8 a.m.

The Terrace RCMP responded to 125 calls for service from June 20, 8  a.m. till June 23, 8 a.m. During the same time period 30 people were lodged in Terrace Cells. 20 of these people were lodged for intoxication.

Here are some of the calls responded to:

  • A white Dodge truck was pulled over on Lakelse Ave/Eby St. The 54 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. An Immediate Roadside Prohibition was issued.
  • A cargo trailer attached to a motorhome in the Walmart parking lot was spray painted during the night of June 19/20.
  • A recently evicted man uttered a threat to blow up an apartment building. Police arrested the 51 yr old man who is currently on probation for uttering threats. The man has been remanded for court on Monday.
  • A 25 yr old man was arrested at Walmart on an outstanding warrant. He attempted to flee from police and pushed customers out of the way in his attempt. The 24 yr old woman who was with him was on conditions to have no contact with him. She was arrested for breaching. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The assault on the customers is under investigation.
  • Group of intoxicated people in behind a restaurant on Lazelle Ave. A 41 yr old man urinating on himself was arrested for intoxication. A 38 yr old man was arrested for breaching a no consume alcohol conditions. A 35 yr old woman was arrested for breaching a no consume alcohol condition.
  • A blue 2005 Pontiac Pursuit lost control and hit a rock wall on Hwy 16 near Coyote Creek. One of the passengers suffered minor injuries.
  • Aggravated sexual assault investigation.
  • Police were conducting a foot patrol and observed a man passed out in Brolly Square. Checks determined that the man was on conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. Police arrested the 31 yr old man.
  • A black and grey mountain bike was stolen from a residence in the 2600 block of Pear St on June 20th.
  • A 25 yr old woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Vancouver. She is held for court.
  • A man in camo gear carrying a gun walking around Clarke St near Paquette Ave. Checks were done of the area.
  • While conducting a bar check at George’s Pub police observed a man known to be on no alcohol conditions holding a beer and displaying signs of intoxication. The man was placed on these conditions the day prior. Police arrested the 32 yr old man and charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
  • An intoxicated woman stumbled into a residence on Tuck Av in the middle of the night and passed out on the couch. Police arrested a 21 yr old woman.
  • Police were conducting patrols on Thornhilll Frontage St when a pedestrian lurched at the police vehicle and attempted to kick it then swore at the police. The 64 yr old man was arrested.
  • A woman could hear something by her window and was too scared to look. Police conducted a perimeter check and located a small dog tied to a gate causing the scary noises. The dog was fine.
  • The tires of a vehicle were slashed while it was parked at the Northern Motor Inn. Under investigation.
  • Two windows of a residence on Old Lakelse Lake Dr were smashed out during the night of June 20/21. Under investigation.
  • Domestic assault. Unsubstantiated. A 46 yr old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Vancouver. He is held for court.
  • A woman requesting police assistance due to an emergency. Investigation determined that there was no emergency and that the woman was just looking for a free ride from police. Police provided advice on the matter.
  • A Simoniz 2600 PSI pressure washer was stolen from a carport in the 4900 block of Gair Ave over the weekend.
  • Fraud investigation. A woman forged a signature on a number of cheques and cashed the money for herself. Under investigation.
  • A 61 yr old driver was pulled over for going more than 40 km over the posted speed limit on Hwy 37 near the Airport. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.
  • Missing 57 yr old man.
  • A white Ford F-150 was pulled over on Thornhill Frontage Rd/Paquette Ave. The 28 yr old driver had a class 7N driver’s licence. The driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition. He was driving contrary to restriction of zero alcohol.
  • Police were flagged down in front of McDonald’s by an intoxicated man needing help with his intoxicated friend. The men were transported to a local motel but it was discovered that the men lied to police and did not have a room there. Both men, ages 23 and 29 yrs old, were arrested. Checks determined that the 23 yr old was on conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
  • A man trashed a woman’s room and left knives sitting on her bed. Under investigation.
  • A blue 2012 Mazda 3 was pulled over on Kalum St/Lakelse Ave. The 58 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. She was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle she was driving was impounded.
  • A grey 2008 Chevrolet Silverado was pulled over on Krumm Ave/Hemlock St. The 34 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
  • A brown 2000 Honda CRV was pulled over on Old Lakelse Lake Dr. The 22 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in warns. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition.
  • Sexual assault investigation.
  • A woman stored her luggage in the bushes near the Greyhound bus and when she returned later the luggage was gone.
  • A grey 2010 Dodge Journey was checked during a road block on Hwy 16. An amount of drugs were seized from the vehicle.
  • A horse has gone missing from a residence on Kozier Rd.
  • Assist Thornhill Fire Department with a structure fire on Marten Dr. The fire was exterior and started from a pit fire left unattended. Damage was minimal. A neighbour alerted the homeowner who was napping inside.
  • Assault with a weapon at McDonald’s. Investigation determined that a Facebook dispute led to a boy threatening another boy with a retractable baton. Police arrested a 17 yr old boy. He is currently on probation for assault with a weapon. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
  • A grey 2004 GMC Sierra was checked during a roadblock on Hwy 16. A 24 hour driving suspension was given to a 29 yr old man.
  • A black 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix was checked during a roadblock on Hwy 16. An amount of drugs were seized.
  • A blue 1993 Chevrolet truck attempted to avoid a roadblock on Hwy 16. Police pulled the vehicle over in the Fisherman’s Park. The truck did not have valid insurance. The 49 yr old driver was a prohibited driver. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The vehicle was impounded.
  • A black 2014 Dodge Ram was pulled over on Hwy 16/Skeena Dr for going more than 40 km over the posted speed limit. The vehicle was impounded.
  • Police pulled over a black 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Eby St/Vesta Ave. The driver was not wearing a helmet and had a Class 7N driver’s licence. The motorcycle did not have insurance. The 30 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition. He was driving contrary to his restrictions of zero alcohol.
  • A woman threatened to smash a women’s face in. The woman then left but called the woman and continued to threaten her. Police listened to the threats via speaker phone as they were being levied. Police located the 18 yr old woman a short distance away and arrested her. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
  • Suspicious circumstances. A man pushing a motorcycle down the road in the 4400 block of Haugland Ave heading towards the river. Occurred June 23rd at 2 AM.
