The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 53 calls for service from June 4th, 8 AM till June 5th, 8 AM. During the same time period there were eight people lodged in Terrace Cells. Six of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Downtown Terrace
- Group of people possibly drinking alcohol sitting in a green 2002 Ford truck parked outside of the TD Bank on Lakelse Ave. Police spoke with the group. No alcohol observed.
- A woman swearing and being belligerent on Lakelse Ave. Checks were done of the area.
- A man approached a police vehicle that was stopped in traffic and en route to a call to make a complaint of an erratic driver. The man was belligerent when police were unable to assist immediately. Police completed the original call then conducted checks of the area for the man. He had left.
- Shoplifter at a business at the Skeena Mall. An IPod docking station consisting of a small base unit and two speakers stolen. The thief is a Caucasian man, 40’s, 5 ft 10 inches, wearing a burgundy shirt.
- Fight on Lakelse Ave. Police spoke with a 34 yr old woman who had sustained minor injuries. She was not cooperative with police and unwilling to accept medical aid. A call was received on the other woman involved a short time later. She was chasing her boyfriend down the street. Police arrested the intoxicated 21 yr old woman.
- Two men drinking alcohol on Lakelse Ave, one in a wheelchair and the other wearing a red sweatshirt, black vest, and black pants. Checks were done of area.
- False business alarm on Eby St.
- Intoxicated man not coming out of a washroom of a restaurant on Lakelse Ave. Police spoke with the man and transported him to an alternate location.
- People possibly doing drugs in a green 2002 Ford truck parked at Shopper’s Drug Mart. Police spoke with the group.
- A grey 1988 Ford truck was pulled over on Lakelse Ave/Clinton St. The passenger had open liquor.
- Two calls of a fight between three men on Kalum St/Lakelse Ave. Checks were done of the area.
- False cellular 911 call. Police conducted numerous checks and eventually tracked down the woman to whom the phone was associated to.
- Man passed out in the washroom of the Husky on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 47 yr old man.
- The window was smashed out of the Coast Inn of the West Cold Beer and Wine Store. Entry was not gained due to the steel bars on the windows.
- Man passed out in a stairwell on Lakelse Ave. Checks were conducted. The man is on conditions not to consume alcohol outside of his residence. The man 22 yr old man was arrested.
- A white 1997 GMC Yukon was pulled over on Lakelse Ave/Atwood St. A Notice of Driving Prohibition was served on the 19 yr old driver.
Elsewhere Terrace
- Theft of an MP3 player from an unlocked vehicle parked on Scott Ave.
- Threats were uttered at a school. Police arrested a 16 yr old boy and turned him over to a guardian.
- A red, yellow, and green men’s wallet with a marihuana leaf on it containing various cards and ID was lost somewhere in Terrace or Kitimat.
- Two calls of protesting teens being unsafe on Hwy 16. Police spoke with the group.
- Stolen property information.
- A Ford Explorer being driven with no insurance at the Home Hardware store.
- A 5 yr old boy was struck by a vehicle on Kalum St and sustained serious, non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital via BC Ambulance. The driver did stop.
- False residential alarm on Skeena St.
- Four drunk people in George Little Park. Checks were done of area.
- False business alarm on Hwy 16 west.
- Drug paraphernalia found near a residence and a school on Hamer Ave. Police disposed of the items. The school was also spoken with to be aware of these items on their grounds.
- False alarm on Keith Ave.
- Intoxicated woman passed out in a parking lot on Lazelle Ave. Police arrested a 37 yr old woman.
- Roommate intoxicated and refusing to leave. He left prior to police attendance. Police spoke with the homeowner about the risks of having strangers sharing accommodation.
- Two intoxicated people refusing to leave the shelter on Hall St. Police arrested two men ages 28 and 19 yrs.
- Man down on the side of a road possibly hit by a vehicle. BC Ambulance transported the intoxicated man to Mills Memorial Hospital. Police spoke with the man and received conflicting versions of events. Unfounded complaint. No injuries.
- An intoxicated badly beaten man was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by a good Samaritan. Under investigation.
- Break and enter to a business on Park Ave that occurred last night between 5:30 PM and 3 AM.
- An intoxicated woman knocked on the door of a residence and asked to use the washroom. She then left prior to the taxi arriving that was called for her. Checks were done of the area.
Thornhill
- Assist Nanaimo RCMP with a missing person file. The person was found. Misunderstanding.
- Noise complaint on McNeil St. A person was spoken with.
- A dark blue Honda Accord almost ran a person of the road early in the morning. Further information could not be obtained.
- Uttering threats investigation. Police spoke with a man.
- Neighbour issues. Ongoing problem on Lakelse Lake Dr.
- Harassment complaint. Under investigation.
- An item was found at the dump and turned into police as a hazardous item to be disposed of.
Rural
- A red 2007 Ford F150 pulled out of Kleanza Creak onto Hwy 16 into the path of a vehicle causing it to brake hard to avoid collision.
Kitsumkalum
- Domestic assault. A man suffered injuries. Police arrested an intoxicated 24 yr old woman. She was in breach of a Recognizance that was issued yesterday morning with the condition to abstain from the consumption of drugs and alcohol. She is held for court.
- An intoxicated woman walking in behind the Tempo. Police spoke with a woman matching the description in the area. She was sober.
