THE SKEENA Junior Secondary School band left this morning on a northern circle tour. That's band director Susan Brouwer with a light sabre.

TIRED BUT excited Skeena Junior Secondary School band students said farewell to their parents this morning as they started out on a northern circle band trip.

The Terrace Minor Hockey Association bus with Rob Geier at the wheel left the school shortly before 5:30 am.

Over seven days, the band, under the direction of Susan Brouwer, will play concerts in towns and villages and travel more than 1,700 miles.

The first stop for the band is Dease Lake where it will appear at a 2 p.m concert.

Then it's back on the bus for an overnight stop at Watson Lake.

The Muncho Lake Lodge at Muncho Lake, Toad River, Fort Nelson, Fort St. John and Prince George are also stops along the way.

The band returns to Terrace the early evening of June 3.
