Man calls 911 when phone company cuts his service

Terrace RCMP responded to 44 calls for service from July 30th, 8 a.m. till July 31st, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, eight people were lodged in Terrace cells – three of these people were lodged for intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

Group of people loitering near the entrance of the Spirit Nightclub. Police spoke with the group.

Two women with children shoplifted a buggy full of groceries from Save On Foods. Police located the grey 1999 GMC Safari van parked at Walmart. Two women were spoken with. Under investigation.

Incident downtown.

False business alarm on Lakelse Ave.

Elsewhere Terrace

Business requesting assistance with a customer who is avoiding contact with them and not picking up her belongings. Civil matter.

A motorbike roaring up and down Davis Ave. Police spoke with a man.

Intoxicated man attempting to speak with a woman he is on conditions to have no contact with. Police arrested the 44-year-old man on Sparks St. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Theft from an unlocked black 2013 Chevrolet truck parked on Mills Ave. two nights ago. Change was stolen. Surveillance photos show the thieves are a man and woman.

Police were speaking with a man when he asked to be transported to Mills Memorial Hospital due to suicidal ideation. Police transported the man.

Vandalism to the Terrace Public library. Writing on the rear entrance door. Under investigation.

Unwanted person at a residence on Molitor St.

Warrants were issued for a 48-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman.

Concerns for the well-being of a man sleeping in a wheelchair at the corner of Davis Ave./Sparks St. The man was fine.

False business alarm on Kerby Ave.

Request to assist BC Ambulance at Davis Ave./Sparks St. The request was cancelled.

A woman moving belongs from a residence scared a young child inside of the residence. Police spoke with the people involved and arrangements were made.

False residential alarm on Walsh Ave.

Mills Memorial Hospital requests police attendance for intoxicated person. The 42-year-old man was arrested.

Group of boys smoking marijuana in behind Davis Ave. Police seized drugs and drug paraphernalia from five boys ages 18, 14, 15, 17, and 18.

Missing 13-year-old girl. She returned home on her own accord. Police attended to the residence and arrested a 17-year-old boy in breach of numerous conditions. A warrant out of Prince Rupert was also executed. He is held for court. Charges of breach of probation, two breaches of recognizance, and two breaches of undertaking have been forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Party at a unit on Haugland Ave. Police spoke with the tenant and returned a short time later to speak with him again.

Domestic dispute. Police spoke with a woman. No injuries.

A 911 call from a cell phone. Police attended to a location and could find nobody requiring police assistance. A short time later a man called from the cell phone explaining that another person had made the call and police assistance was not required.

Man screaming on Sparks St./McConnell Ave. Checks were done of the area.

Abandoned bikes. Police observed that the bikes were locked up.

Assist Ministry of Children and Families with investigation.

A dog went up to some kids playing in the park. The mother kicked at the dog.

Aggressive driver in an older dark colored 2012 Toyota Corolla on Hwy 16. Checks were done of the area.

Thornhill

Assist Kitimat RCMP with warrant.

An intoxicated man was observed by police walking down Old Lakelse Lake Dr. The 38-year-old man was arrested.

A man screaming and acting in an irrational manner. Police arrested a 56-year-old man.

Five men causing a disturbance on Queensway Dr./Kenworth St.

Rural

A white 2013 Yukon XL with BC LP#077SXT was stolen from the Airport sometime between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. on July 29th.

False 911 call in Rosswood. The phone company cut service to a phone line and a man dialed 911 to see if it worked. Police had discussions about using 911 like this.

A blue 2012 Chevrolet Cruze hit the ditch on Hwy 113 north of Terrace. The 86-year-old driver sustained minor injuries.

Dogs left in a van at the Northern Motor Inn. Police located the van. No issues.

Abandoned boat and trailer in front of a home on Adel Rd. Been there for the past three weeks. Under investigation.

Domestic dispute. A woman assaulted a man. No injuries. Under investigation.

Found dog on Gagnon Rd. The person was dealing with the matter.

A grey 2006 Land Rover being driven in an aggressive manner on Hwy 16 near Gossen Cr.

Kitsumkalulm

Unloaded tan logging truck being driven aggressively on Hwy 16 turning into the Kitsumkalum Reserve. Checks were done of the area.
