Walmart employee arrested for shoplifting

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 99 calls for service from June 6, 8 a.m. till June 9, 8 a.m. During the same time period nineteen people were lodged in Terrace Cells. Fourteen of these people were lodged for intoxication. The following is a list of calls police responded to:

A grey 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was pulled over on Keith Ave/Sparks St. Checks determined that the 26 yr old driver was prohibited from driving. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The vehicle she was driving was impounded due to numerous defects.

Suicidal 31-year-old woman. Police apprehended the woman under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Mills Memorial Hospital.

Theft of two jerry cans full of gas from a truck parked at the Bear Country Inn. Under investigation.

Theft of four tires and rims from a property on Brooks St/Hwy 16. A padlock was cut with bolt cutters to gain access to the property.

Police observed a green 1993 Eagle Vision on Paquette Ave that was in noncompliance of a notice and order that was served two months ago. The vehicle was pulled over and impounded.

A black IPhone was stolen from Mills Memorial Hospital. GPS on the phone provided a location near Graham Ave. Police attended an address known for illegal activities and discussed the missing phone with the residence occupants, all denied knowledge. Later that evening the missing phone was turned in to the hospital.

An overweight man on a dirt bike on Scott Ave. Concerns for the safety of the man as the caller felt he weighed too much for the dirt bike. Checks were done of the area.

A green 1992 Ford Mustang was pulled over on Hwy 37 near the airport for going 136 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. The 21 yr old driver had a Class 7 N driver’s licence with a restriction of zero alcohol. The driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a reading. He was issued a Driving Prohibition.

A 17 yr old boy ingested an illegal drug and was suffering from spontaneous fainting spells. Police spoke with the boy and convinced him to get medical assessment.

Missing 15 yr old boy.

Vandalism to a grey 2009 Ford Focus parked on Park Ave. Under investigation.

A brown leather wallet containing cash, various cards and ID was left at the ATM machine at a convenience store in Thornhill. When the owner returned it was gone.

An intoxicated 34 yr old woman broke the window of a residence on Park Ave. Checks determined that the woman was in breach of a condition of not to be outside of her residence when consuming alcohol. She was arrested.

A woman was assaulted by 46 yr old man at a motel. No injuries. Under investigation.

Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a Walmart employee for theft. Police arrested the 21 yr old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

A grey wallet with a peacock on the front containing various cards and ID was left on top of car at the Chevron gas station on Hwy 16 and lost when the car drove away.

Intoxicated man caused damage to a motel room and is refusing to leave. Checks determined that the man was in breach of a no consume alcohol condition. The 35 yr old man was arrested. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

A 57 yr old woman crashed a quad on the Copper River Rd near the stables. She was taken to Mills Memorial Hospital by BC Ambulance for treatment of injuries received. She had consumes alcohol prior to the crash.

Domestic dispute. Investigation determined that a person had ingested an illegal drug which caused him to flip out and destroy the living room of a residence. An assault did not occur. Police arrested and transported the man to Mills Memorial Hospital.

A white Dodge truck lost control and struck a large tree on Westside Rd approximately 4 km from Hwy 37. The truck was abandoned.

A black 1992 Pontiac Grand Am lost control on wet roads on Hwy 113 approximately 40 km north of Terrace and hit the ditch. The vehicle sustained significant damage. The 22 yr old driver suffered minor injuries and was able to get a ride into Terrace from a passing motorist.

A 2005 Pontiac Montana van parked on Thomas St was broken in to on June 7th between midnight and 1 AM. Rocks were used to smash the driver’s side window. A blue purse containing a blue wallet with cash, various cards and id were stolen.

Gunshots heard in the area of Haugland Ave. Checks were done of the area.

Missing 26 yr old woman.
