Hit-and-run injures 12-year-old girl
Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 33 calls for service from May 6th, 8 a.m. till May 7th, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, there have been five people lodged in Terrace cells – two of these people were lodged for public intoxication.
Intoxicated man sitting on the steps of a business on Greig Ave. Checks were done of the area.
Unresponsive man sleeping on Greig Ave. near a business. Checks were done of the area.
Two men and a woman drinking alcohol on Lakelse Ave. Police requested the assistance of BC Ambulance due to his level of intoxication. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. A short time later police arrested the 41-year-old man at the hospital for intoxication.
Man passed out in Brolly Square. Checks were done of the area.
Abandoned bike near Lakelse Ave./Clinton St. Checks were done of the area.
An intoxicated aggressive man on Greig Ave. Police located a man in the area who was in breach of conditions to abstain from consumption of alcohol. The 26-year-old man was arrested and is held for court. Checks were conducted for the original call.
Assault in front of the liquor store on Lakelse Ave. A backpack was stolen. Police located a 28-year-old man in the George Little Park and the stolen backpack. The 28-year-old man was arrested. The backpack was returned. The 28-year-old man had assaulted another man as well causing minor injuries. Under investigation.
Fight on Park Ave. Police spoke with a man in the area who had been involved in the fight. Further police involvement was not wanted.
A 17-year-old boy on a bike was hit by a vehicle on Scott Ave. The boy sustained minor injuries. The driver did stop to ensure he was okay.
Report of a planned fight at a location. Checks were done. The fight did not happen.
Break and enter with theft from an apartment on Tetrault St. Under investigation.
General assistance to a woman.
A four-year-old boy was bitten by a small dog tied to a bicycle rack outside of the Terrace Public Library. The boy was treated at Mills Memorial Hospital for the injury sustained. Under investigation.
Domestic disturbance. Police arrested a 44-year-old man for breaching his condition of not to consume alcohol. The man is held for court.
Two intoxicated women passed out at the Terrace Public Library. Police spoke with a mildly intoxicated woman.
An air compressor was found in the parking lot of Cassie Hall School.
Domestic dispute. Police spoke with the people involved. No offence was committed. The situation had diffused itself.
Theft from a business on Kalum St. Under investigation.
Possible impaired driver in a red 1994 Buick on Kalum St. Checks were done of the area.
A 12-year-old girl was struck by a small grey jeep on Scott Ave./Kalum St. The driver failed to stop. The girl suffered minor injuries.
Street racing on Kalum St. Checks were done of the area.
False business alarm on Lazelle Ave.
Barking dog on Eby St./Haugland Ave. Checks were done. It was quiet.
Police observed a man sleeping on a picnic table in the George Little Park. The 51-year-old man was arrested for intoxication.
Two men drinking alcohol in a wooded area off Hanson St./Olsen Ave. when one of the men became unresponsive. Police requested the assistance of BC Ambulance who transported the man to Mills Memorial Hospital.
A bank card was used by another person. Under investigation.
An iPhone 5 in a black and orange Otter box was found across from the Thornhill Elementary School.
Impaired driver in a blue van. Police pulled the blue 1994 Chevrolet van over on Hwy 37 south of the airport. A 24-hour driving prohibition was issued on the 59-year-old man. The vehicle was towed.
