Search for Terrace robbery suspect continues
TERRACE RCMP continue to look for the person responsible for a smash and grab robbery that took place approximately 3 p.m. yesterday at Carters Jewellers on Lakelse Ave. in downtown Terrace.
A man entered the store, smashed a glass display case with a tool, grabbed some jewelry that was inside the case and then fled on foot east on Lakelse Ave. toward the Royal Bank, reported an update from Cpl. Mark Alexander, NCO in charge of the Terrace General Investigation Section today.
Descriptions indicated the man is a First Nations man in his 30s, standing five-feet-seven inches tall, with a slim build.
He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a black jacket, track pants and glasses
The Terrace Forensic Identification Unit, Terrace General Investigation Section, and police dog Rook were also on scene assisting in the investigation yesterday.
Earlier the same afternoon, a man of the same description was reported around the Cook's Jewellers outlet in the Skeena Mall.
A video image released that was taken inside the mall depicts a man of approximately the same description. He was wearing gray baggy pants with a dark stripe up the side.
Shortly before the Terrace robbery, there was a smash and grab at a jewelry store in Kitimat.
Just before 1:30 p.m., someone smashed a display case at Cook's Jewellers in the City Centre Mall and removed the contents.
The individual then fled the store and mall area.
