Bed frame takes out car on Hwy 16

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 22 calls for service from February 6, 8 a.m. till February 7, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, there were two people lodged in Terrace Cells - one of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

A person reported that another person was using an expired/invalid wheelchair permit to park in wheelchair only parking stalls. Police determined that the permit was valid.

Missing 13-year-old girl.

Elsewhere Terrace

Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 34-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man for shoplifting. Police arrested the two and are forwarding charges to Crown Counsel.

Abandoned 911 call from Mills Memorial Hospital. Children were playing with the phone.

A yellow 2008 Jeep Wrangler collided with a silver 2013 Chevrolet pickup truck at Kalum and Keith. Both vehicle sustained minor damage. No injuries.

Separation issues involving division of property. Police gave advice on the matter.

A suspicious vehicle parked on Park Ave. Checks were done of the area.

Group of teens drinking alcohol on Scott Ave./Hanson St. The group dispersed on police arrival. Police followed up with a 14-year-old youth at a residence and BC Ambulance was called out to transport the boy to Mills Memorial Hospital due to his level of intoxication.

Missing 13-year-old girl. She was not missing. The parent knew where the child was. Police gave advice on the matter.

Abandoned 911 call. Police located an intoxicated passed out 18-year-old man in the school grounds on Loen Ave. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. Police were called to the hospital a short time later when he was causing a disturbance. He was arrested again and lodged in cells.

Party on Hansen St. Checks were done of the area.

Suicidal comments made on Facebook. Police spoke with a 15-year-old girl. Unsubstantiated.

A warrant was issued for a 50-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, and a 43-year-old man. All failed to attend court.

A man was concerned about the welfare of his child. Checks were made. No concerning issues were identified.

Erratic driver in a red 1992 Chevrolet truck. Police spoke with the registered owner.

Erratic driver in a black 1998 Ford Ranger. Under investigation.

Thornhill

Two horses on the loose near the Thornhill Pub. The owners located them.

Landlord/tenant issues. An assault was alleged to have occurred. Further police involvement was not wanted.

Rural

Possible impaired driver in a red 2006 GMC Sierra truck on Hwy 37 heading towards Kitimat. Kitimat RCMP were notified.

A blue 2011 Mazda 2 lost control and hit the ditch after running into a wooden bed frame that had fallen out of a vehicle and was in the middle of Hwy 16 near the Welcome to Terrace sign. Damage was substantial and the vehicle was towed. No injuries. A short time later a person reported to police that they had lost the bed frame. Police spoke with everyone involved.
