Police deal with drunk man for 10th time this year

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 95 calls for service from January 17th, 8 a.m. till January 20th, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, there were 19 people lodged in Terrace Cells – 15 of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Here are some of the calls responded to:

A red and black 1500 watt King generator was stolen in a break and enter at Northern Industrial Supply on Kalum St during the night of January 16/17.

Attempted break and enter of a residence on Haugland Ave. The incident occurred between 4 p.m. and midnight on January 16th. A window was damaged. There have been reports of a man checking out residences in this area during late hours.

Sexual Assault investigation.

Pink Next Special Edition Laser ladies bike found by a dumpster on Lakelse Ave.

A 2009 Ford Focus travelling west and a 2013 Dodge Ram travelling east collided on Keith Ave./Kalum St. Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed. No injuries.

Erratic driver possibly impaired in a grey 2010 Mazda 3 leaving Tim Horton's on Lakelse Ave. Police pulled the vehicle over on Lakelse Ave. The driver was suffering from a medical condition and was transported to her residence.

Theft of food from Safeway. A man left the store with a basket full of groceries and refused to pay. He left as a passenger in a red 1994 Jeep Cherokee. Under investigation.

Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man for shoplifting. Under investigation.

A brown 2000 Honda CRV was pulled over for speeding near Ferry Island on Hwy 16. The 21-year-old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. BC Ambulance was called for an unresponsive intoxicated 15-year-old passenger in the vehicle. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.

An eastbound grey 2012 Ford Expedition was pulled over on Hwy 16 for going 146 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. The vehicle was impounded and the 32-year-old driver dealt with for excessive speed.

Police observed a person consuming alcohol at the corner of Lakelse Ave./Emerson St. While police were conducting an investigation, the intoxicated man left in a vehicle. The vehicle was pulled over and the 37-year-old man arrested for breaching his probation.

A man went to a residence of a friend and demanded a beer. The friend said no so the man struck his friend over the head with a beer bottle causing injury. BC Ambulance transported the friend to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. Under investigation.

The windows were smashed out of a blue 2006 Ford Freestar van parked on Scott Ave. The vandal was wearing a beige jacket and fled west on Scott Ave on foot.

Two intoxicated men with a stuck white 1978 Ford truck and a stuck tractor on Kenney St. A 20-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were arrested. The 20-year-old man was served a Driving Prohibition.

A red 2012 Honda Civic was pulled over on Hwy 37/Hwy 16. The 25-year-old driver was a prohibited driver. The vehicle she was driving was impounded. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Intoxicated man passed out on the train tracks. A train had almost hit the man so the train yard was shut down. Police located and arrested a 43-year-old man for breaching probation. This is the 10th police contact with this man since January 6th. The man was transported via BC Ambulance to Mills Memorial Hospital due to his level of intoxication. An hour later police were called to the hospital due to the man's belligerent and abusive behavior. He was arrested. Charges of breach of probation, causing a disturbance, mischief, and resisting arrest have been forwarded to Crown Counsel. The man is held for court.

A white iPhone 4s in a grey and white case was stolen from a shopping cart at Save On Foods on January 19 at 3:30p.m.

Domestic. A man uttered threats to a woman. The 43-year-old man was arrested. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Intoxicated person passed out behind a dumpster in an alley behind Lakelse Ave. Police requested the assistance of BC Ambulance due to the boy's level of intoxication. The boy became aggressive and abusive with paramedics and was arrested by police for public intoxication.

Missing 14-year-old boy. Runaway.
