Rash of false commercial alarms

TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 28 calls for service from December 3, 8 a.m. till December 4, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, there were eight people lodged in Terrace Cells – seven of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

Fight at a business on Lazelle Ave. Police arrested an intoxicated 34-year-old woman for assault and public intoxication. Under investigation.

Lost iPhone 5. The phone was found by a man but he would not return the phone till receiving a cash reward. Under investigation.

Notification of next of kin.

False commercial alarm on Eby St.

Abandoned 911 call from a prepaid cell phone. Checks were done in the area of Lazelle Ave. Further information could not be obtained.

Elsewhere Terrace

Suspicious circumstances. The roof of a shed on Sparks St. was pried open. Under investigation.

Assault of an elderly woman. The situation is being dealt with internally. Police spoke with the people involved and provided advice on the matter.

Vandalism to a vehicle parked on Scott Ave. The block heater cord was cut.

Police executed a warrant on a 42-year-old man for failing to comply with probation. He is held for court.

Concern for a man in a wheelchair on Sparks St./Davis Ave. Checks were done of the area.

Custody dispute. Police spoke with a man and gave advice on the situation.

Intoxicated woman at the soup kitchen on Sparks St. She calmed down on her own and was allowed to stay.

Domestic disturbance. A man kicked in the door of a residence and uttered threats to a woman inside. Police arrested a 46-year-old man at another location.

False commercial alarm on Keith Ave.

False commercial alarm on Blackburn St. that was cancelled prior to police attendance.

False commercial alarm on Earle St.

Suspicious circumstances on Mountainview Ave. A woman calling for help and a man trying to force a woman into a vehicle.

Thornhill

False residential alarm on Edlund Ave.

Two calls received on an intoxicated man walking on Muller Ave. Police arrested a 21-year-old man for public intoxication.

A vehicle was lent out and not returned. The vehicle was located abandoned in New Hazelton.

Intoxicated man causing problems on Old Lakelse Lake Dr. He left prior to police attendance. Checks were done of the area.

Possible impaired in a black Dodge on Hwy 16 east. Police spoke with the driver who was sober.

Rural

Separation issues. Police spoke with a woman and gave advice on the matter.

Assault causing bodily harm investigation at the Northern Motor Inn.

False commercial alarm on Hwy 37.

Kitsumkalum

Vehicle doing donuts by the train tracks and the bridge.

Familial dispute. Police spoke with the people involved. A person left for alternate accommodation for the time being.
