Logging truck flipped over on Hwy 37 near Lakelse lake
The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 112 calls for service from October 3rd, 8 AM till October 7th, 8 AM.
During the same time period there have been 19 people lodged in Terrace Cells. 14 of these people were lodged for public intoxication.
A 1998 Dodge Stratus parked on the side of Hwy 16 west of Terrace with all of the windows smashed out. Checks were done.
People refusing to leave a motel room when asked. Police arrested a 25 yr old intoxicated woman. Police also arrested a 29 yr old man who was in breach of a recognizance by being outside of his residence while under the influence of alcohol and also by being outside of his residence beyond a curfew. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel on the man. A third man had left prior to police attendance. He was arrested a short time later when he jumped on the hood of a vehicle on Haaland Ave/Crescent St attempting to get a ride. A second intoxicated man who was with him was arrested as well.
A logging truck hit the ditch and rolled on Hwy 37 near Williams Creek. The driver was the lone occupant and was not injured. Traffic was partially blocked by the incident. There was damage to the guard rails.
A vehicle was broken into while parked at the arena sometime Thursday night. A laptop computer was stolen. A man returned the laptop the next day. Under investigation.
A child in a diaper outside in the rain. Police attended and found that the boy had been led into a residence. A 1 yr old baby was observed crying in the doorway of the residence. A man and woman were located sleeping upstairs in the residence. Police requested the assistance of Ministry of Children and Families as a suitable guardian was not located for the two children.
A green 1994 Ford Mustang hit the ditch on Old Lakelse Lake Dr/Hwy 37. The driver was the lone occupant and was uninjured.
Suspicious white van with stripes and Washington plates going in and out of driveways in the area of Centennial Dr. Checks were done of the area.
Mills Memorial Hospital requested police assistance with a violent patient. Police attended and the situation resolved itself without incident.
A brown 1992 Ford truck was checked in a roadblock on Queensway Dr/Old Remo Rd. The 43 yr old driver was suspended from driving. He also had a notice to serve another Suspension Notice. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.
Police observed a 28 yr old man known to have no driver’s licence driving a green 1999 Honda Accord. The driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. He was served an Immediate Road Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
A green 1993 GMC Sierra was observed driving in an erratic manner while exiting Ferry Island. The 24 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
A person waved a police officer down and turned in a BB hand gun. Persons were attempting to sell the gun at a drug house on Haugland Ave. Police seized the gun for destruction.
Break and enter with theft. A man heard a person inside of his residence on Greig Ave. He observed a man described as First Nations, 5 ft 10 inches, wearing large baggie jeans and a large black coat with a large collar. The vehicles and a back shed were gone through. An amount of change was missing.
Man passed out sitting at the blood pressure monitor inside of Shoppers Drug Mart on Park Ave. Police located the man and arrested him for public intoxication and breach of Probation by consuming liquor. He is held for court due to ongoing issues of breaching his conditions.
A brown Ford van rear ended another vehicle that was stopped for a pedestrian in a cross walk on Lakelse Ave. Both vehicle sustained considerable damage. No injuries to the drivers who were the lone occupants.
Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 26 yr old woman for shoplifting. Police arrested the woman and are forwarding charges to Crown Counsel.
Two men ages 24 and 21 hiked to the top of Copper Mountain and were now stuck. They had underestimated the climb and the weather change. Search and Rescue used a helicopter to get the two men off the mountain. They were uninjured.
A black truck drove over a meridian in the Mac’s Convenience Store parking lot. The 25 yr old female driver is being investigated for impaired driving.
Police attended to a residence on Walsh Ave on information received. A 26 yr old man was arrested for breaching a Recognizance by being in contact with two people and by being at their place of residence. He is held for court.
A 22 yr old man breached a no contact condition of a probation order. Under investigation.
A young First Nations man wearing a green hoodie and a large golden necklace shoplifted meat at Safeway. He fled west from the store. Under investigation.
On Sunday shortly after 8 PM a man driving a light green colored minivan stopped to talk to a couple parked at Kalum Lake Rd/Wasach Creek. At the end of the conversation the man opened the rear passenger door and said he was going to take their baby. They drove away and the man said he was going to follow them. The man did not follow them. He is described as 50 to 60 yrs of age, Caucasian, 230 to 250 lbs, wearing glasses.
A man running up and down the hallway banging on random doors of the Best Western Inn. Staff asked him to leave and he refused. Police arrested a 21 yr old man for public intoxication.
