Runaway goes to police for place to stay
TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 36 calls for service from September 5th, 8 a.m. till September 6th, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were five people lodged in Terrace Cells – four of these people were lodged for public intoxication.
a man bothering people near the Scotiabank. The man was volatile and wanting to fight for no apparent reason. Checks were done of the area. Later on in the day, the man was causing problems by refusing to leave and bothering customers at Shoppers Drug Mart on Park Ave. The 21-year-old man was arrested.
intoxicated woman failing to leave the lobby of the Best Western Hotel. Police spoke with the woman who was arranging for a cab.
a woman kicking and punching a window at the Bear Country Inn. Police conducted patrols in the area and made note that the downtown garbage bins had all been dumped. Police located the woman. She was intoxicated and irrational. The 34-year-old woman was arrested.
well-being concern. Two young children were left in a red Ford Focus while the adult went into the Royal Bank.

a woman reported the location of a stolen bike. Police spoke with numerous people and after confusing versions of circumstances it was determined that nobody could claim ownership of the bike. Civil matter.

man passed out near Copperside Foods on Kalum St. The 57-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.
noisy party on Mountain Vista. Police spoke with a group of people who moved inside.
woman passed out on Davis Ave. Police arrested a 34-year-old woman for public intoxication.
a 16-year-old boy attended to the detachment to inform police that he had run away from home and wanted a place to stay. Police spoke with the people involved and requested the assistance of Ministry of Children and Families.

a man sleeping on cardboard near Finning/Kalum. Police spoke with the 59-year-old man. No issues.
suspicious circumstances. A woman woke up in the morning and found what appeared to be blood on a counter top in her house and has no idea how it got there.

man passed out near the pay phone of the Northern Motor Inn. Police arrested a 47-year-old man for public intoxication.
a grey 2013 Ford Explorer attempted to run the red light on the old bridge at 6:30 p.m. It met another vehicle that was proceeding on the green light and had to back up off the bridge.

ongoing issue of quads and trucks using a private property to access power lines near Goodwin St. While speaking with the complainant, police observed a vehicle committing the very act itself. Police spoke with the people.
a black 2003 Oldsmobile was checked on Skeena Dr./Bulkley St. The 27-year-old driver was prohibited. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The vehicle was towed.
a red 2013 Harley Davidson was pulled over on Hwy 16 west for going 161 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. The motorcycle was impounded.
