Terrace RCMP have been working around the clock, investigating a suspicious death in a south side home.

At approximately 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, police and ambulance received a 911 call to respond to an "injured male" on the front porch of a home on Sparks Street (between Keith and Haugland Avenues).

First responders found a deceased Caucasian adult male with obvious signs of trauma, said police.

A police line was set-up, where six homes remain sectioned off, and the street remains closed to thru traffic.

Inspector Dana Hart said the body is still inside the home, and that the General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section of the Terrace RCMP will be investigating the death for the next several days, along with the BC Coroners Service.

Neighbours of the house where the death occurred allege there were drug connections as the house saw frequent traffic coming and going, and said the neighbourhood was "nice and peaceful before he moved in."

Neighbours also say it is allegedly the same house where police conducted a drug bust in 2009.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Terrace RCMP (250-638-7400) or CrimeStoppers (1-800-222-8477).
