Terrace RCMP take man to hospital twice

THE TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 29 calls for service from March 20, 8 A.M. till March 21, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, there were seven people lodged in Terrace Cells. Five of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

two teenage boys setting off firecrackers in an empty lot on Greig Ave. Checks were done of the area.

a wallet was left on a bench seat near Mr Mikes. Described as Wind River 3 fold brown vinyl containing an amount of money, ID, and various cards.

during patrols police observed a man known to be on conditions and just recently released from a correctional facility for breaching probation. Police ascertained that the man had been drinking alcohol contrary to his probation and was arrested for same. The 39-year-old man is held for court.

report of two girls running around like chickens with their heads cut off in the area of Lazelle Ave. Checks were done of the area.

police observed a man passed out in the stairwell of the Spirit Night Club. The 23-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

police observed an intoxicated man stumbling down Greig Ave. The 35-year-old man was on conditions to not be outside of his residence while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and is held for court.

police observed a group of persons consuming alcohol at Lakelse Ave./Emerson St. The alcohol was dumped.

Elsewhere Terrace

two men sleeping in the front lobby of Mills Memorial Hospital. They were gone prior to police attendance.

on March 20 between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. a black 2012 Chevrolet Impala was keyed while it was parked at the Chances Casino.

thieves went through two unlocked vehicles parked on Straume Ave.

a man was observed texting while driving a black 2011 Nissan Rogue on Keith Ave. Checks were done of the area.

during the night of March 18, a black Garmin Nuvi GPS was stolen from a black 2009 Mazda CX parked on Thomas St.

break and enter to a residence in a townhouse complex on Haugland Ave. The homeowners were home sleeping at the time and woke up when they felt a cold draft and discovered a patio door open.

man passed out while doing his business sitting on a toilet in the ladies washroom of the Terrace Public Library. Police woke the 49-year-old man up, asked him to finish his business, and then arrested him for public intoxication.

anonymous complaint of a red 2003 Chevrolet cutting another driver off.

police observed a man known to be prohibited driving a red 1995 Honda on Medeek Ave. Charges of driving while prohibited are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

familial dispute. Police transported an 18-year-old man to another residence.

a white GMC Sierra truck was checked on Sparks St. The driver was prohibited. Charges of driving while prohibited are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

police observed a man staggering down Kalum St. The 22-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

an intoxicated woman assaulted a man at a residence on Davis Ave. The people involved were spoken with. The 30-year-old woman was transported to another residence.

police observed a man walking down Eby St. when he suddenly collapsed striking his head on the sidewalk curb. Police stopped and called BC Ambulance who transported the man to Mills Memorial Hospital. Later in the day he was released back to police and arrested for public intoxication. Police called BC Ambulance a short time later to transport the man back to Mills Memorial Hospital.

police observed an intoxicated person on Scott Ave. during patrols. The 59-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

three men ages 21, 19, and 22 were observed in the skate board park and there was the smell of marihuana in the air. An amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Thornhill

a man was assaulted by an 18-year-old man last Sunday. Under investigation.

intoxicated man sitting in the middle of Thornhill Frontage Road. Police found the 20-year-old man sitting in the middle of the road and arrested him for public intoxication.

a 16-year-old boy refusing to go home. Police determined that he was fine.

Rural

vehicle fire on Hwy 16 approximately 75 kms west of Terrace. Police found the vehicle which was broken down and not on fire. A tow was arranged at the owner's request.

police checked a vehicle parked off of Hwy 16 on a gravel road with a man in the driver's seat. The man told police that he was checking out fishing spots along the river, but police noted there was no fishing gear in the vehicle and observed alcohol in the back seat. Upon further questioning, the man provided an explanation for his flushed face that was unrelated to fishing.

Gitaus

possible impaired driver in a green pick up truck. Checks were done of the area.
