Incident likely a figment of intoxication

The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 23 calls for service from December 12, 8 AM till December 13, 8 AM. During the same time period there were five people lodged in Terrace Cells. Four of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

intoxicated man outside of the Coast on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 70 yr old man for public intoxication.

man and woman arguing outside of Safeway. Police spoke with the couple. The man had a warrant for his arrest from Victoria. Police arrested the 41 yr old man for breach. He is held for court.

intoxicated man sleeping outside of the Coast Liquor Store. A 40 yr old man was arrested for public intoxication.

Elsewhere Terrace

false business alarm on Haugland Ave.

an Ipod was found outside of Suwilaawks School. A name and phone number were on the Ipod and police are making attempts to contact the owner.

an intoxicated man causing a disturbance near Boston Pizza on Hwy 16. Police spoke with the man who was angry because the food he ordered was taking too long. He left via cab.

a woman was backed into by a cab in a parking lot on Pear St. Police spoke with the people involved. The woman was uninjured and there was no evidence to suggest an offence had occurred.

a woman reported that an intoxicated man urinated inside of a building then fled north and threatened he was going to get her. Police attended to the location and spoke with the highly intoxicated woman. Police then spoke with a sober witness and determined that this incident did not occur and was likely a figment of intoxication.

a man was refused service at the shelter on Hall St due to his level of intoxication. Police transported the 45 yr old man to the damp shelter on Braun St.

13 yr old girl reported missing. This is the third time in three days. She returned home a few hours later.

a man picked up a woman off the streets because she was wet, then offered to let herself dry off in his residence. He gave her some money to purchase an item, and she never came back with the item. Police gave advice to him on the matter, which included not to pick up unknown woman and invite them into your home.

familial play fighting turned into an assault. A 13 yr old boy suffered injuries that had to be treated at Mills Memorial Hospital. Police have requested the assistance of Ministry of Children and Families. The people involved are not cooperative.

a 911 call was placed from Terrace for a possible overdose in Kamloops. Police assisted Kamloops RCMP.

a woman called 911 from Copperside on Kalum St. She stated she was assaulted then hung up without providing further details. Checks were done of the area.

a wallet was found on Lanfear Hill.

Thornhill

a nine year old boy was bit by a dog on Marten Dr. The injury was minor. Police spoke with the people involved and advised the matter be reported to the Thornhill Animal Shelter.

hit and run in front of the Thornhill Primary School on Paquette Ave. A red Chevrolet truck with a white canopy hit a red 2008 Mazda Tribute then drove away.

a man called police and said they were fighting on Queensway Dr. then hung up. Police attended and found an entourage of intoxicated people who wanted a free ride to town. No offence had occurred and they were left to their own devices.

two girls ages 12 and 13 yrs of age out of control and refusing to follow direction. Police requested the assistance of Ministry of Children and Families. Prior to the Ministry's arrival the two girls left on foot. They did not return and were reported missing. Police located the girls at a nearby residence. A woman agreed to take the girls for the night then changed her mind when witnessing the behavior of the girls. One of the girls fled. Police located her hiding in bushes. Police were en route to alternate lodgings with the girl when she made comments to destroy a place and began to cause damage to the police car. Police apprehended the girl under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Mills Memorial Hospital.

a woman is drunk and fighting with everyone at a residence on Queensway Dr. Police spoke with people inside of the residence. Everyone was highly intoxicated and not making sense. Eventually it was determined that two people did not live there and were not wanted there anymore. Police arrested a 35 yr old man and a 28 yr old man for public intoxication.

Rural

domestic dispute. The man had left prior to police attendance. The people involved were not cooperative.

an intoxicated man was refused on a Hawk Air Flight. Police transported the 51 yr old man to the damp shelter for the night.
