Police called to residence twice for disturbances
HERE'S A summary of incidents that police dealt with in the last 24 hours.
The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 44 calls for service from December 6, 8 a.m. till December 7, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were two people lodged in Terrace Cells. One of these people was lodged for public intoxication.
assist New Hazelton and Smithers RCMP with an impaired investigation.
suicidal 20-year-old man. Unsubstantiated.
suicidal 26-year-old woman. Unsubstantiated.
fight outside of McDonald's. A man punched a 42-year-old man. No injuries. Further police involvement was not wanted. Intoxication was involved.
man panhandling and trying car doors at the Save On Foods Parking lot. Checks were done.
familial dispute. A 33-year-old woman was transported to alternate lodgings.
theft. Two employees staying in the same motel room and one stole from the other. It was resolved without further police involvement.
assist New Hazelton RCMP with a mischief investigation.
possible impaired. A red 2002 Ford Windstar. The vehicle was not located.
a black 2001 Pontiac Sunfire with numerous defects parked in a parking lot on Sparks St. Police seized a licence plate that did not belong to the vehicle.
landlord/tenant issues on Agar Ave. Civil matter.
a person being harassed by Facebook.
assist Langley RCMP with robbery investigation.
Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested two boys ages 16 for shoplifting. Police released the boys over to their family.
landlord/tenant issues on Tuck Ave. Tenants are not paying rent and using drugs. Police gave advice on the matter.
a neighbor was concerned about the well being of a squatter in a building on Sparks St because she hadn't seen him in a few days. Police checked the building and nothing was there.
harassing text messages. Police gave advice on the matter.
call from payphone at the hospital that a disturbance could be heard on Haugland Ave. Police spoke with four intoxicated people. No offence committed. The hospital was checked and no one required police assistance. Police had to re-attend the residence a few hours later for another disturbance call. There was a verbal intoxicated disagreement and those involved had left. Everyone agreed to go to bed. A short time later police attended Mills Memorial Hospital because one of the men from the party had injuries as a result of an assault. Police had observed these injuries on this man earlier in the evening and were told that if was the result of an accident. Police advised the man that once sober he can speak to police again.

man dressed in black screaming on Straume Ave. Checks were done of area.
a partially clothed man on a porch at a residence on Scott Ave. Checks were done.
erratic driver in a dark grey Chevrolet truck on Kalum Hill. Checks were done of area.
abandoned 2001 Chevrolet Venture with an incorrect plate on Copper River north of the bridge. The registered owner of the vehicle was spoken with.
a 13-year-old girl ran away from home. Police spoke with the girl and ensured her safety.
a blue Ford Windstar acting suspiciously was pulled over on Hwy 37 near Krumm Rd. The 67-year-old driver did not have a driver's licence. He was served a notice of driving prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
white Ford truck driving erratically near the old Skeena Bridge. Checks were done of area.
an intoxicated man refusing to leave a residence on Queensway Dr. The 25-year-old man was arrested for assault.
a man went to his neighbour's on K'san Ave. and removed an outdoor security light because it was bothering him.
assist BC Ambulance. A woman about to give birth at the Coast Inn had a two-year-old that needed care. Police attended and ensured the child had care.
chronic bad driver in a black Jetta. Advice was given on the matter.
police assisted the Ministry of Children and Families with a residence check.
a grey Chevrolet Malibu hit the ditch on Hwy 16 approximately 60 km west of Terrace. No damage and no injuries.
a white 2012 Econoline van was checked at a roadblock on Hwy 113 at Deep Creek. An amount of drugs was seized from the vehicle.
familial dispute over effects and money owed. Police gave advice on the matter.
domestic dispute. Police involvement was not wanted.
