Prohibited driver found with second licence
HERE'S THE incidents that kept police busy during the last 24 hours.
The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 20 calls for service from December 5, 8 a.m. till December 6, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were two people lodged in Terrace Cells, both for public intoxication.
email fraud. A person received an email that said the holder was eligible for a tax refund and to claim they had to click on a link. The email claimed to be from Canada Revenue Agency.
youth doing drugs near library. Checks were done of area.
suicidal 23-year-old man. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.
speeding drivers on Kalum St. Police set up radar and observed approximately 100 vehicles all traveling below the posted limit.
a woman wanted help because people are trying to control her life even though she is an adult. Police spoke with the woman and ensured her safety.
a 17-year-old boy under the influence of a drug smashing things inside of a residence on Kalum St. Police arrested the boy for causing a disturbance. He made suicidal comments. He was later transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.
intoxicated man causing problems at the shelter on Braun St. Police arrested a 35-year-old man for public intoxication.
a man was late upon returning home after work from Alcan. Police advised the woman there was an accident and he was most likely stuck on the other side of it. The man eventually called and advised that he was all right.
noisy party on Scott Ave. Checks were done and all was quiet.
a red Nissan Pathfinder was observed to have many defects and was pulled over on Loen Ave. The driver was prohibited. The driver also possessed a second licence under an alias. This licence was flagged to serve a prohibition and impound the vehicle. Charges of driving while prohibited are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The Nissan was impounded.
familial dispute involving an intoxicated man. Police spoke with the people involved and everyone agreed to go to bed.
wellness check on an 84-year-old man.
a Chevrolet Blazer is stopped and blocking traffic on the new bridge on Hwy 16.
a red Pontiac Sunfire obstructing an entrance to a business on Old Lakelse Lake Rd. Police had the vehicle towed after observing that it was blocking the entrance.
a woman is calling another woman names and saying bad things about her. Police gave advice on the matter.
a man relinquished ownership of a pistol to the police for destruction.
assist Kamloops detachment with an investigation of a 16-year-old girl's death.
a black Toyota 4Runner went off road on Kalum Lake Rd. near the 1000 block and rolled onto its side. The 17-year-old driver was uninjured. Road conditions were poor.
assist Kitimat detachment with a motor vehicle collision on Hwy 37.
a Kia Santa Fe lost control at the 89 km mark near Kasiks on Hwy 16 and hit the ditch. The 49-year-old driver was uninjured.
