Kayaker drowns in canyon
On September 11, 2012, Dease Lake RCMP received a report that rafters had located a deceased male in Stikine Canyon between Highway 37 and Telegraph Creek.
RCMP attended the location and through their investigation confirmed the male had been kayaking with friends earlier in the week. After their successful run down the river the male returned for a second ride on his own.
RCMP confirm that foul play is not suspected and therefore the investigation has been turned over to the BC Coroners Services.
