Terrace city councillor returns home
A city councillor who has been fighting a rare disease has returned home from Vancouver.
Lynne Christiansen came back to Terrace Sept. 1 and then spent a week at Mills Memorial Hospital.
She had spent two weeks at St.Paul's Hospital – a few days of which she was in an induced coma, after being diagnosed with Wegener's disease – a rare autoimmune disorder.
She was discharged Sept. 6, said her dad Clarence Warner.
“Her children are here right now and of course, we're doing whatever we can for her,” he said.
“I don't think she will be cured of this but she has to take ongoing fairly heavy medication for it and I think she will definitely not be working for some time.”
She has been feeling weak and is taking physical therapy, he added.
