Police take depressed man to Hazelton hospital
New Hazelton responded to 118 calls during the period of July 2 to July 11.
On July 3rd, police received a call that a young male was observed standing on the Hagwilget bridge for a few hours staring at the water.
The male was located and admitted he was depressed. The male was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to the hospital for assessment.
On July 6th, two intoxicated males in Kispiox called the police to report they had been jumped by some males who demanded alcohol and then pointed a .22 at them.
The complaint is still under investigation.
On July 7th, police observed a vehicle in front of them that was weaving in and out of the vehicle's lane of travel.
The RCMP officer activated his lights and siren to stop the vehicle but the suspect vehicle failed to stop and then accelerated to escape. The vehicle was eventually stopped by the Terrace RCMP.
On July 10, police arrested a person in Old Hazelton for Possession of a controlled substance. The person was later released with a court date on a Promise To Appear.
