Collision closes northwestern BC highway

The New Hazelton and Terrace RCMP are currently on the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Highway #16 at Flint Creek, east of Terrace.
The collision has involved a commercial lumber transport and a van.  Emergency Health Services has been dispatched to the scene and are transporting injured parties to the Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace.
At this point, one person has believed to have sustained serious injures, however those injuries remain indeterminate.
The police investigators are currently examining the possibility that the collision has alcohol as a contributing factor.
Highway #16 is currently closed, as investigators examine the physical evidence and establish the direction of their investigation.
The Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure has been advised and are providing flaggers at that location.  At this time, it is unknown if a detour will be made available.
Motorists are encouraged to check on Drive BC for more information.
Communication with the emergency personnel is limited, so details are not as forthcoming as might normally be expected.
