Burglars take advantage of unlocked residence
POLICE ARE reminding the public to ensure their homes are locked when they go to bed after a home on McConnell Ave. was burglarized during the night of May 5.
A 39-year-old woman and her daughter slept while thieves went through the kitchen and living room and stole a green I-pod with "Merry Christmas Anya, Love Mom" engraved on the back, white headphones, a USB charger, a black 3.2 megapixel Kasio camera, a black Kodak Easyshare camera and a black space heater, reported police today.
"The simple precaution of ensuring your home is locked goes a long way in preventing break and enters. Thieves are opportunists. Don’t make it easy for them and give them an opportunity of an unlocked home.
"Be aware of suspicious people and vehicles in your neighborhood and call us, “ says Const. Tiffany Pretty, general duty officer at the Terrace RCMP Detachment.
