Online commenting changes
ANONYMOUS comments are ending on www.terracestandard.com as of Dec. 1.
Instead, those wishing to make a comment can only do so under their name and only then if they have a Facebook account.
While anonymous commenting has proven entertaining, there have been times the ability to do so has been abused and that's affected the tone of debate.
"We don't allow letters to the editor in the printed version of The Terrace Standard [to be anonymous] and that's really brought on a double standard," said Rod Link, editor of The Terrace Standard and of www.terracestandard.com.
The Terrace Standard's sister newspapers and websites within Black Press, including the on-line-only news site, www.bclocalnews.com, are all ending anonymous commenting as well.
