Terrace council nominations adding up

IT'S now going to be a race for a Terrace city council seat.

One-time city councillor Marylin Davies has filed papers, making her the ninth person in the running for one of the six council seats.

Incumbent councillor Bruce Bidgood's papers were filed this afternoon.

And another newcomer, Martin Holzbauer, also filed this afternoon.

Earlier, Bruce Martindale, a one-term city councillor, filed to become a candidate for mayor and will go up against incumbent Dave Pernarowski.

Restauranteur James Cordeiro, unsuccessful in trying for a council seat in the 2008 elections, filed this morning for what will be a second attempt.

Sitting council members Lynne Christiansen and Brian Downie have also filed.

Also to have filed are newcomers Mike Ross, Stacey Tyers and Dan LeFrancois.

Nominations close at 4 pm tomorrow.
