Three killed in Nelson Glacier helicopter crash

STEWART RCMP responded to a report of a helicopter crash late yesterday afternoon on Nelson Glacier near Stewart.

RCMP investigators attended the crash site by air and confirmed that the three souls onboard perished in the crash.  The helicopter operated by Vancouver Island Helicopters had a three souls on board (pilot and two passengers) who were on a geological work related flight.

The helicopter firm attended the area to assist in transporting the RCMP investigators to the location.

The RCMP will continue to assist Transport Canada and the BC Coroners Service with their investigations into the fatal crash.
