Kicking off the new year by jumping into the lake

MORE THAN 40 people jumped into the lake to start the new year at the 21st annual Kermodei Bear Swim at Lakelse Lake.

MORE THAN 40 people jumped into the lake to start the new year at the 21st annual Kermodei Bear Swim at Lakelse Lake.

Six groups helped raise more than $6,200 with more than $2,700 going to the groups, which were Caledonia Dry Grad, Caledonia Boys and Girls Rugby Clubs, Parkside Graduating Class, 747 Air Cadets, Terrace Bluebacks Swim Club and the Terrace Community Foundation.

The Trip for Two winner was Sherelyn Christiansen, 747 Air Cadets $1,450.

Best Costume went to Faith McInnis of the Terrace Bluebacks Swim Club.

The Alex Burroughs autographed T-Shirt went to the Bluebacks, who had the most participants.
