THE PALLIATIVE care unit at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace has a new piece of furniture.

The couch was bought through donations made to the REM Lee Hospital Foundation, the body which raises money for hospital equipment and other necessities at Mills Memorial.

The couch is made of a material sturdy enough to withstand cleaning standards at the hospital.

On hand recently to acknowledge the donation were Dr. Jaco Fourie, who is in charge of oncology services at the hospital, foundation chair chair Todd Taylor, foundation director Gayle Appleton, Mills director of care Lorna Jefferis and acute care ward head nurse Penny Henderson.

Donations made to the Lee foundation can either be made in support of a specific campaign of the foundation or for general equipment purchases.
